Other Terms: Seminiferous tubules, Convoluted seminiferous tubules, Seminiferous tubules set, Tubuli seminiferi contorti, Tubules séminifères contournés
The seminiferous tubules are located in the testes and create spermatozoa. The epithelium of the tubules consists of Sertoli cells and spermatogenic cells. There are two types of tubules: convoluted and straight, convoluted toward the lateral side, and straight on the medial side as the tubule forms ducts that will exit the testis.
