Medial margin
Description
This border of the scapula is thin. Both above and below its junction with the spine it has a slight lateral deviation until its termination at the superior and inferior angles. It provides attachment for the levator scapulae, rhomboideus, and serratus anterior muscles.
Etymology
The term margin refers to the edge of a bone. A synonymous term for margin is border.
