Other Terms: Tuberculum infraglenoidale, Tubercule infraglénoïdal
This is a rough, triangular region just inferior to the glenoid cavity on the lateral margin of the scapula. It provides attachment for the long head of the triceps brachii muscle.
The term infraglenoid is from the Latin infra meaning below and glenoid meaning socket or cavity. Tubercle comes from the Latin word tuber for a lump, combined with the diminutive ending denoting a small lump.
