Coronoid process of the ulna
Other Terms: Processus coronoideus, Coronoid process, Processus coronoideus ulnae, Processus coronoïde
This process is the beak-like projection forming the distal boundary of the trochlear notch. The inferior surface of the process is the attachment site for the brachialis muscle. The superior surface of the process contributes to the articulation with the humerus.
Coronoid is modified from the Greek korax for raven or crow. To the early anatomists it resembled the beak of a crow or raven.
