Cranial syndesmotic ligaments
Description
There are various fibrous bands or aggregations of dense collagenous connective tissue uniting various bones in the developing skull. These connective tissue structures form the various syndesmoses of the cranium. Two prominent syndesmoses that remain after the complete development of the cranium are the pterygospinous ligament and the stylohyoid ligament.
