Description
The tubercles of the ribs, with the exception of the last two, articulate with the transverse processes to form the costotransverse joints. These joints have spacious capsules and are characterized by possessing quite a number of reinforcing or check ligaments. These simple planar synovial joints have limited gliding motions.
