Description
This is a highly variable ligamentous structure that connects the head of the femur to the acetabulum of the os coxae. It is triangular in shape and attaches to the fovea on the head of the femur and the acetabular notch of the os coxae. It is surrounded by a fold of the synovial membrane of the joint capsule, which is sometimes present without a ligamentous core.

Limits adduction of the hip.
