Description
The transversalis fascia is the thin collagenous internal investing fascia of the body wall. It covers the inner surface of the abdominal muscle wall laterally and anteriorly. It becomes the quadratus and psoas fascia where it passes over these muscles posteriorly and it becomes the iliac fascia and superior fascia of the pelvic diaphragm as it passes inferiorly into the pelvic region.
