Description
The lesser sciatic foramen results when the sacrospinous and sacrotuberous ligaments close off the open border of the lesser sciatic notch to create a small passageway from the pelvis to the gluteal region. This foramen provides passage for the obturator internus tendon and nerve and the internal pudendal vessels and pudendal nerve.
