The lambdoid suture connects the parietal bones to the occipital bone and is continuous below with the occipitomastoid suture between the occipital and the mastoid portion of the temporal bones. The lambdoid suture is formed by the parietals and interparietal portion of the occipital. It extends from asterion to asterion.
