Histology
Description
Histology is the study of tissues, which are the building blocks of the organs of the body. Tissues are structured, highly organized populations of cells and the surrounding extracellular substances that the cells produce. There are four basic types of tissue in the body – epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue. All the named tissues of the body fall under one of these four major categories.
