Origin
Superior part of the common tendinous ring that surrounds the optic canal
Insertion
Superior surface of the anterior part of the sclera
Action
Elevates, adducts, and intorts the eye.

Blood supply
Muscular branches and the supraorbital artery of the ophthalmic artery via the internal carotid artery.
