Description
Cranial nerves are a portion of the peripheral nervous system that comes from the brain instead of from the spinal cord. There are twelve pairs of cranial nerves. Cranial nerves are numbered by where they are along the longitudinal axis of the brain. There are sensory and motor cranial nerves.
