Lesser occipital nerve

Description

The lesser occipital nerve emerges between the first and second cervical vertebrae with the greater occipital nerve. This nerve arises from the lateral branch of the third cervical nerve. It is a cutaneous nerve and innervates the skin in the midline of the upper neck and behind the ear.
