Description
The common fibular nerve is a branch of the sciatic nerve. It extends diagonally along the lateral side of the popliteal fossa to the head of the fibula and winds around the neck of the fibula, between the fibularis longus and the fibula. It supplies fibers to the lateral sural cutaneous nerve branch which supplies the skin on the posterolateral surface of the leg. It divides beneath the fibularis longus into the superficial and deep fibular nerve.
