Description
The deep fibular nerve originates from the common fibular nerve. It passes to the anterior surface of the interosseous membrane. It travels with the anterior tibial artery. It divides into a lateral and medial terminal branch. It is the motor supply to the anterior compartment of the leg which includes: the tibialis anterior, extensor hallucis longus, extensor digitorum longus, and the fibularis tertius. It is also the motor supply to the extensor digitorum brevis and extensor hallucis brevis. It is the sensory supply to the skin of the web between the first and second toes.
