Description
The secondary or peripheral lymphoid organs provide a site for lymphocytes to interact with and become activated by antigens, initiating an adaptive immune response. These organs are the lymph nodes, and the lymphoid follicles located in the spleen, adenoids, tonsils, Peyer’s patches, skin, etc.
