Description
This small projection is situated just superior to the glenoid cavity near the base of the coracoid process. It provides attachment for the long head of the biceps brachii muscle.
Etymology
The term supraglenoid is from the Latin supra meaning above and glenoid meaning socket or cavity. Tubercle comes from the Latin word tuber for a lump, combined with the diminutive ending denoting a small lump.
